Sapiens is based on a series of lectures Harari gave in Jerusalem in the early 2010s, and it reads in fact like a bunch of TED Talks bundled together. The author (a historian specialised in medieval crusades, to begin with) sounds well versed in all sorts of disciplines: palaeontology, anthropology, history, economics and social sciences and a bit of philosophy to boot. One of the charms of Yuval Noah Harari’s Sapiens is that it avoids such simplistic explanations. Instead, it offers a bravura retelling of the human story seasoned with more personal reflections on Review of Yuval Harari's Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind.

The review will also address two questions: “What is the book Sapiens about?” and “What lessons does the book Sapiens give?” It will be argued that the history of sapiens eloquently recounted by Harari should be recognized for what it is: science-fiction rather than a serious scholarly work. Sapiens är en svepande historik över människans korta men fantastiska historia. undernäring, sjukdomar och, som Harari hävdar, en mer egocentrisk och stressad individ.

I, Karin, have read Sapiens-A Brief History of Humankind / En kort historik över mänskligheten by Yuval Noah ✨ Book review: “Sapiens” by Yuval Noah Harari.
About 70,000 years ago, Homo sapiens underwent a “cognitive revolution,” Harari writes, which gave them the edge over their rivals to spread from East Africa across the planet. Other species had big brains too, but what made Homo sapiens so successful is that we are the only animals who are capable of large-scale cooperation.

Consider the phenomenon known as “Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind.” First written in Hebrew and self-published in Israel in 2011, the book by Yuval Noah Harari found an American Review. Sapiens is the best high-level tour of our species’ development that I have read so far. The journey begins with the introduction of Homo sapiens around 70,00 years ago and through the cognitive, agricultural, and scientific revolutions. To understand how Harari arrives at this conclusion, we might turn to his earlier book. “Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind” was an attempt to write a genetic, anthropological, cultural ‘Sapiens’ is a decent ‘Big History’ primer, although a number of points, like a cognitive leap/revolution vs a cognitive crawl are still being (hotly) debated by many of the specialists who study theses matters. Harari is a historian by profession & writes with too much certainty on matters that are not settled & he’s not an expert on.
